La Mesa Hills Dentistry is Open, with All the Appropriate Measures to Keep You Safe

Recent months have been challenging for all of us, as COVID-19 has affected our daily lives deeply. Through these unprecedented times La Mesa Hills Dentistry has strived to support our patients, as we realize there are serious consequences that may potentially occur when people do not receive routine dental care. As we move into a phased reopening, we are pleased to reopen our La Mesa Hills office to the public again, and begin welcoming back patients for preventative dental care. Our La Mesa Hills office is following all advice and guidance of public health officials and putting all appropriate safety measures into effect. The health and well-being of our patients is our top priority, and we will continue to take all steps necessary to ensure your health and safety, while providing the quality dental care your family deserves.

Under the direction of the State of California Department of Health and Human Services and the County of San Diego Department of Public Health, La Mesa Hills Dentistry was authorized to reopen for routine dental care. LMHD is paying close attention to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidance for how we should operate to minimize the risk of infections. We are following their guidelines, as well as the American Dental Association (ADA), and all state and local guidelines, to deliver the safest care possible. Here are a few ways we are keeping you safe in the office:

✧ Patient Screening

Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office, and your temperature will be checked and health history updated at the time of your appointment.

✧ Safety-first Check-in:

To ensure our patients’ safety and reduce the risk of transmission, we have eliminated all unnecessary contact. Hand sanitizer is available at our entrance, and our check-in process has been retooled to ensure a minimal amount of contact. You may also notice magazines and children’s toys have been removed from the waiting area, as they are difficult to properly disinfect.

✧ Physical Distancing:

LMHD will schedule appointments in such a manner to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time and allow for physical distancing between patients. This may mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment, and we will be working diligently to reduce any waiting times.

✧ Facial Coverings:

For your increased safety, all LMHD staff will wear facial coverings to further reduce any possible risk of transmission.

✧ Sanitation and Infection Control:

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice, and LMHD continues to follow enhanced protocols for minimizing the risk of infection to our patients and staff. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. As always, we continue to follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). LMHD continuously follows the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

Our cleaning protocol includes: daily deep cleaning of all waiting and examination rooms including carpets, desks, phones, and counter surfaces, deep cleaning of all counter surfaces and equipment between each patient visit, and the use of disposable equipment whenever possible

If you are ready to come into our La Mesa Hills office for routine, preventative dental care, or if you are in need of emergency dental care, we are here to see you! We know how important your oral health is to your life, and that is why it is our priority to deliver the care you need, in the safest way possible.
